One time my mom had a tampon in and I guess she forgot it was there, idk I think she was drunk or something, so she put another tampon in without taking that one out, and it pushed the old one up through her cervix and into her uterus. She had stomach aches and cramps for a while after that, so she went to the doctor and they found an old tampon floating around in her uterus and they had to take it out with this long claw thing.
